Special Fall Classes start week of September 21!

Our standard online and in-person classes will resume next year, starting in January, 2026. This fall, we are teaming up again with our great facilitators from Mexico and Costa Rica to bring a series of special on-line classes covering a wide variety of topics, featuring classes for every skill level. Please check out the class descriptions below to find the best class (or classes) for you!

The fee for all classes will be $100 for BCA members and $120 for non-members.

¡México Hoy! (Mexico Today!). Note: Unfortunately, Arlette and Andrea will not be able to present this class this fall due to schedule conflicts. Hopefully, we will be able to re-schedule the class early next year. In the meantime, please consider one of the other classes available.

FOR BEGINNING STUDENTS: Juguemos y aprendemos con Rú. (Let’s play and learn with Rú) Rú is a Spanish Teacher in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, and she uses fun and engaging games to help students increase their conversational abilities. Note: Each class will be limited to 5 students to provide ample time for each student to participate. Students for this class should have completed Beginning Let’s Speak Spanish, or a similar introductory course. Uncertain about your skill level? FOR BEGINNERS and ADVANCED BEGINNERS: Construyendo Oraciones Exitosas (Building Successful Sentences). Stephanie is a teacher in San José, Costa Rica, and she has developed a wonderful program to help beginning and intermediate students put together unique sentences to express a wide variety of thoughts. Don’t miss this opportunity to expand your ability to express yourself effectively in Spanish! Please Note: Each class will be limited to 5 students to provide ample time for each student to participate. Students for this class should have completed Beginning Let’s Speak Spanish, or the equivalent. Basic ability to converse in the present tense is important. Uncertain about your skill level?   • Session 1 8 Tuesdays starting Sept. 23, 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM AZ Time. CLASS IS FULL

  • NEW! Session 3 8 Tuesdays starting Sept. 23, 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM AZ Time. CLASS IS FULL

FOR INTERMEDIATES and ADVANCED INTERMEDIATES: Platiquemos un Rato (Let’s Chat Awhile). Lucia lives along the Rio Sonora in eastern Sonora, and she loves to help intermediate students.  Each session will include an interesting mix of fun activities, including word games, listening exercises, and conversation practice.  Please Note: Each class will be limited to 5 students to provide ample time for each student to participate. Students for this class should have completed Let’s Speak Spanish Intermediate 1 or 2 or the equivalent. The ability to converse in a variety of basic tenses (present, simple past, imperfect, future) is important. Uncertain about your skill level? FOR ADVANCED STUDENTS: ¿Tomamos un café? (Shall we have a coffee?). Gabriel is a professor who lives in Aguascalientes, and Lucía lives along the Río Sonora in Mexico. Each week they will provide study materials about an interesting cultural topic and help the students discuss the topic. Each class will be limited to 5 students to provide ample time for everyone to participate. Note: Each class is designed for experienced students who are comfortable discussing complex topics in a variety of tenses. Uncertain about your skill level?
