Who We Are
Education, Cultural Exchange, Social Advocacy
Border Community Alliance (BCA) offers access to the heritage and potential of the borderlands through cultural exchange and social advocacy. This work is accomplished in partnership with FESAC (Fundación del Empresariado Sonorense, A.C.), a Sonoran community foundation. We aim to provide a community service of public benefit by connecting people and cultures across borders in the cultivation of awareness and a positive sense of international community.
BCA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in Tubac, Arizona. We provide opportunities for learning via experiential cultural programs to residents and visitors of Southern Arizona.

Positive & Enlightening Exchanges
Border Community Alliance’s mission is bridging the border and building of a strong sense of international community. We accomplish this through in-place public education programs in collaboration with Sonoran partners. Our aspiration is to advance positive and enlightening interactions whether between Sonoran and Arizonan or Mexican and American. Consider joining us on a cultural exchange and get to know your neighbor.
Classes & Workshops: The Borderlands Forum
The Borderlands Forum series of classes and workshops offered by BCA seeks to promote understanding and appreciation of the borderlands as a cross-cultural, binational resource. The forum provides focus, energy and quality to the educational mission of Border Community Alliance. Our aim is to be a clear, strong voice advocating mutual respect for the cultural diversity of the US-Mexico border region, thereby moderating the forces of xenophobia and racism that affect our region.

BCA Internship
The BCA Internship Program seeks to give participants broad exposure and provide hands-on experience to the realities of border life. Interns will experience perspectives from both sides of the border—politically, culturally, socially, and environmentally. Living close to the border is more than textbook theory. It is like having one foot in Mexico, and the other in the United States. BCA interns will have unique opportunities to dialogue with borderland writers, teachers, politicians, artists, migrants, social activists, environmentalists, and attorneys. And friendships are often forged for life.
