Gary Chambers

Gary had a fulfilling and varied career in education. A Texas native, he served as a teacher, coach, counselor, and administrator in several Texas school districts. He also worked with a major educational publishing company, marketing educational programs and materials throughout a multistate region.

After retiring, Gary continued his commitment to education by coordinating a university internship practicum for prospective school administrators, helping prepare the next generation of educational leaders.

Since moving to Green Valley full-time four years ago, Gary has developed a particularly meaningful connection to BCA. Through BCA’s programs and border trips, he has had the opportunity to experience the border region firsthand in ways that could never be fully understood from a map, a news story, or a classroom. These experiences have deepened his appreciation for the people, communities, history, and complex realities that make this region so unique.
